Ear warmer/headband

Crochet ear warmers are a perfect Christmas gift because it is a fantastic alternative for individuals who dislike wearing traditional hats or beanies. They offer excellent warmth while allowing for a more comfortable and stylish solution for those who prefer to keep their hair up in a ponytail or bun. With their simple design, they are easy to make, making them a quick DIY project that can be completed in as little as an hour, perfect for both beginners and experienced crocheters. Using a yarn with wool content adds an extra layer of warmth, making these ear warmers perfect for colder weather. Their versatility and style appeal to a wide range of tastes, making them a thoughtful and practical present for friends, family, or colleagues during the holiday season.

QUICK PATTERN for medium-sized adult head
Materials:
Any 4-5 size yarn (~50gr)
5 mm hook
Darning needle

Foundation chain: 65.
Row 1: skip first stitch, hdc (half double crochet) 64, chain 1, and turn.
Row 2-10: hdc 64 in back loops only, ch1 and turn.
That’s it! You can close the end regularly to make the band straight. But there is a quick tip to elevate this cute headband. Place the ends as shown in the picture below: fold the ends in half and place them together so that one part hugs another and sew them together like that. Turn it inside out and you have a cute twisted ear warmer/headband.

Scrunchies

They are a delightful addition to any hair accessory collection, offering a charming touch to hairstyles. Crochet scrunchies are not only charming but also incredibly versatile, allowing for endless customization options. You can easily create a variety of styles by simply changing the crochet stitch or adjusting the stitch count. This versatility means that each scrunchie can possess its unique look and feel, making it a fun and creative gift idea for Christmas.

QUICK PATTERN
Materials:
Simple hair ties
Any kind of leftover yarn (from bulky or plush yarn to fingering or baby)
Hook to match the yarn

Working in rounds.
Foundation Round: attach the yarn with a knot to the tie. Work as many sc (single crochet) as possible in your tie as in MR (Magic Ring). Join the beginning with slst (slip stitch).
Round 1: ch2, work 3 dc (double crochet) in each stitch, join with slst. Ch1.
Tip: the more dc you make in one stitch, the bigger ruffle you will get. So you can try different variations of making 2 dc in each st or 4 dc. As well you can do 2 or 3 rounds in total (1 – Foundation Round, 2 – 3dc, 3 – 1 sc in each st or 1 – FR, 2 – 2sc, 3 – 3dc and so on).
